The London Plan is the spatial development strategy for Greater London, setting out the framework for how the city will develop over the next 20 to 25 years and the Mayor’s vision for good growth.
Against the backdrop of an ambitious target of 88,000 new homes and the recently published Growth Plan, the current London Plan review offers a unique opportunity to influence the key policies that will chart the future of the city’s built environment.
Throughout the consultation phase, from the publication of Towards a new London Plan in May 2025 to the adoption of a revised London Plan in 2027, BusinessLDN will be at the heart of the consultation process, working with and for business: collaborating with the GLA, convening our members, sharing exclusive insights, and enabling the voice of the business community to be heard.

Our ‘Key Asks’ for the London Plan: Working with our members to publish a series of topic-focused, short-form working papersto inform our discussions with the GLA and influence key policy decisions.
Working Groups and Roundtables: Participate in these to shape our messaging for our consultation responses and the examination hearings, ensuring that industry perspectives are at the fore in the development of the Plan’s key policies.

London Plan timeline
May 2025: Towards a new London Plan – we submitted a comprehensive consultation response, which you can read here.
July 2026 – October 2026: A full draft new London Plan will be published for Consultation .
Spring 2027 – autumn 2027: Independent examination of the draft new London Plan.
March 2028: Target publication of the new London Plan .
