The London Plan is the spatial development strategy for Greater London, setting out the framework for how the city will develop over the next 20 to 25 years and the Mayor’s vision for good growth. 

Against the backdrop of an ambitious target of 88,000 new homes and the recently published Growth Plan, the forthcoming London Plan review offers a unique opportunity to influence the key policies that will chart the future of the city’s built environment.  

Throughout the consultation phase, from the publication of Towards a new London Plan on 9 May 2025 to the adoption of a revised London Plan in 2027, BusinessLDN will be at the heart of the consultation process, working with and for business: convening our members, sharing exclusive insights, and enabling their voices to be heard.

How you can get involved: Our London Plan Programme  

  • Exclusive Member Event: Join BusinessLDN for our Towards a new London Plan member-only briefing on 28 May, where you’ll have the first opportunity in the London Plan review process to engage with the GLA’s London Plan team and hear directly about their vision for the city’s future. 
  • Working Groups: Participate in our focused Working Groups, shaping our messaging and consultation responses, alongside our task-and-finish deep-dive groups on housing, commercial property, sustainability, and viability, ensuring that industry perspectives are at the fore in the development of the Plan’s key policies. 

Towards a London Plan timeline 

  • 9 May 2025: Towards a London Plan – setting out the high-level vision  
  • By March 2026: Draft London Plan Consultation 
  • 2026 – 2027: Examination Process 
  • 2027: Final Adoption
