Keeping London moving, connected and resilient to secure the capital’s future
Transport is an enabler of sustainable growth and unlocks opportunity, connecting people to jobs and firms to international markets. Ensuring London is well connected across the city, across the UK and internationally is a core focus of our activity.
After years of short-term fixes, we banged the drum for a long-term solution — and secured a four-year funding settlement for Transport for London (TfL) at the 2025 Spending Review. This is welcome, but London’s growing population means major investment is still needed in projects like the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Bakerloo extensions, West London Orbital and, eventually, Crossrail 2. We’re exploring private sector funding, pushing for further devolution and advocating for fares reform to keep London competitive. Alongside this, we’re addressing rail nationalisation, road user charging, EV infrastructure, congestion and promoting the river’s role in sustainable transport. We continue to make the case for sustainable aviation growth and new international rail routes to support exports.
