London’s rich cultural offering is the envy of the world

Amongst fierce competition, London boasts cultural organisations and creative industries which are best-in-class, providing highly visible, accessible and relevant success stories which play a significant role in bolstering brand Britain.  

This, in turn, plays a key part in securing inward investment and attracting top talent, many of whom see London as a fun place to live where they can enjoy the varied cultural and sporting opportunities on offer.

BusinessLDN’s Culture Council brings together leaders and voices from across the city’s cultural and business sectors, uniting their expertise and vision to ensure that culture is recognised as essential to the capital’s economic and social fabric.   

In the Government’s all-important drive for growth, culture must take its proper place: as a foundational pillar of our economic success, and a key part of the solution to unlocking further productivity and growth (powered by the arts’ intrinsic value to individuals and society).  If, instead, it is viewed as a costly ‘nice-to-have’, we risk undermining a cornerstone of our economic success, which would have knock-on consequences well beyond the world of culture.
