Matt has worked in the Further Education sector for the past 24 years after serving in the Royal Navy and working in the private sector. Coming from a background in sports coaching and performance, he taught sports, psychology, and public services curriculum before progressing into senior management roles at various FE institutions across the country.

In March 2023, Matt joined West London College as Deputy Principal for Planning, Performance, and Partnerships. His role focuses on business development, employer engagement, external bids and project acquisition, adult and apprenticeship curriculum, and higher education. Matt also has responsibility for the strategic and operational oversight of business support areas that include Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, IT, and Digital Innovation.

Alongside his work at West London College, Matt serves as Chair of the Newham Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he represents the Chamber on a variety of forums at local, regional, and national levels, contributing to wider conversations and initiatives relating to business, skills, and talent development.
