Responding to publication of Transport for London (TfL)’s draft 2026 Business Plan, Muniya Barua, Deputy Chief Executive at BusinessLDN, said: “A world class transport network is critical to keeping the capital moving.
“With TfL now on a firmer financial footing following its multi-year settlement from the Government, it is good to see vital upgrades to the network going ahead, plans to tackle congestion and speed up bus journeys, and a commitment to explore greater innovation in fares. It’s particularly encouraging to see TfL’s property arm Places for London creating new affordable and well connected homes on disused TfL land.
“We now need a clear delivery plan for the Docklands Light Railway extension to Thamesmead which will unlock new jobs, homes and economic growth. And to make headway on other priority projects – particularly the Bakerloo line extension and the West London Orbital, and in time Crossrail 2.”
