Responding to reports that the UK is set to rejoin the EU’s Erasmus exchange programme from 2027, Mark Hilton, Policy Delivery Director at BusinessLDN, said:
“Rejoining the Erasmus programme will mean exciting new opportunities for students to enrich their learning experience and for our world-leading universities and language schools to strengthen international partnerships. It will also put the UK and London firmly on the map as a global study destination.
“This announcement should be a stepping stone towards establishing a new Youth Mobility Scheme with the EU, giving more young people opportunities to live, work and study in the UK temporarily in a controlled way. With the economy flatlining, such a scheme would boost growth while also delivering considerable value through cultural exchange and soft power.”
