Responding to the Labour Party manifesto launch, BusinessLDN CEO John Dickie said:
“The Labour Party’s manifesto is right to prioritise boosting economic growth in partnership with business, underpinned by stability, given it is the only sustainable way to drive prosperity and fund much-needed investment in our public services.
“As an engine of growth, London has a vital role to play in delivering on this vision. Steps to unblock development, including through planning reform and releasing low quality ‘grey belt’ land, will help to deliver the homes and infrastructure that the capital and other cities require to support growth.
“We welcome Labour’s commitment to consult on their agenda on workers’ rights so that it strikes a balance between maintaining flexibility that benefits individuals and businesses, while also protecting employees.”
