In response to a speech by Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves at Labour Party Conference, John Dickie, Chief Executive of BusinessLDN, said:
“We’ve long been calling for the planning system to be properly resourced and streamlined so that London can deliver the housing and infrastructure needed to drive long-term, sustainable growth. This should include steps to boost housebuilding by increasing capacity in local planning authorities and reviewing green belt land to identify poor-quality sites for new houses. Dragging the planning system into the 21st century will help unlock development that boosts the economy and benefits communities across the country.”
