BusinessLDN response to TfL’s Extending the DLR to Beckton Riverside and Thamesmead

BusinessLDN has submitted its response to Transport for London’s third public consultation on extending the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Beckton Riverside and Thamesmead. Our response strongly supports the continued progress of this strategically important project, which will address a major public transport gap in East London, unlock the delivery of around 25,000 new homes and up to 10,000 jobs, and provide the essential infrastructure needed to support the proposed Thamesmead New Town. We welcome the focus on station design, construction management and environmental considerations, and call for funding arrangements to be finalised swiftly to enable the scheme to progress towards delivery. The extension will strengthen connectivity across East London, improve access to employment and services, and support growth across the wider Thames Estuary Growth Corridor.
