A discussion at the Labour Party Conference 2023: The impact of childcare reform to businesses

The average costs of childcare in London are more than double compared to some other UK regions. This has impacted parents and carers — acting as a barrier for those entering and returning to the labour market. Getting provision of high-quality childcare at affordable prices is crucial for businesses when it comes to attracting and retaining talent. A bolder, more comprehensive childcare plan can incentivise the private sector to provide more support to their employees.
