Professor Shitij Kapur
Vice-Chancellor & President, King’s College London and Chair of London Higher
Professor Shitij Kapur is the Vice-Chancellor and President of King’s College London, a position he assumed in June 2021. He returned to King’s after over four years at the University of Melbourne, where he was Dean and Assistant Vice Chancellor (Health) for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, and interim Deputy Vice Chancellor (International).
Professor Kapur’s academic credentials are distinguished. He graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1988, trained in Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh, and earned a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto. His research on psychosis and antipsychotic treatment is widely recognized, with over 300 papers published.
He has received numerous awards and honours, including being named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (UK) and King’s College London.
