Connectivity

BusinessLDN has responded to the Government’s consultation on introducing Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED), supporting the need to futureproof motoring taxation as EV uptake grows. However, it stresses that the policy must not undermine incentives to switch to electric — particularly in London, where EV drivers already face higher costs following recent Congestion Charge changes. The response calls for a simple, flexible and technology-enabled system, and urges policymakers to consider cumulative impacts on businesses and fleets while using eVED as a step towards more integrated, dynamic road pricing.
