Generating Land Value to Drive Growth in London
This event will showcase new research led by BusinessLDN and WSP on Land Value Generation in London. With support from London Councils and Transport for London (TfL), we analysed the role that a new financing model can play in unlocking infrastructure investment through capturing residential uplift in land value in London.
The resulting model will help contribute towards meeting part of the funding gap for projects such as the Bakerloo Line Extension, the DLR extension to Thamesmead and the West London Orbital by helping to generate revenue from land value uplift for residential development. These transport projects have the potential to unlock over 70,000 new homes, as well as significant commercial floorspace and associated jobs. The model will have wider applicability beyond these three projects alone, for both London projects and UK-wide infrastructure.
The session will be opened by a member of WSP’s Executive leadership team and we look forward to welcoming an audience of approximately 60 to 80 stakeholders from across the public and private sectors.
