In 2017 the Parker Review set out recommendations to increase ethnic diversity by setting targets for FTSE100 and FTSE250 boards, including developing a pipeline of candidates from minority ethnic groups to help plan for succession, and enhancing transparency and disclosure to measure progress. Yet while nearly all FTSE companies now have at least one director from an ethnic minority background on their board, progress at the c‑suite level remains much slower. To help tackle these challenges, BusinessLDN has this year announced a strategic partnership with Change the Race Ratio, a campaign to accelerate ethnic minority representation in business leadership with more than 100 signatories. This practitioner-level event will give BusinessLDN members the opportunity to meet with the Change the Race Ratio team and find out more about the campaign. We will also hear from leading voices on inclusion and diversity who will share best practice on thepractical steps they are taking to remove barriers to progression and leadership roles and drive race equity.
