London’s economy and labour market are undergoing significant change, as advances in AI and digital technology, evolving employer skills needs, and transition to net zero reshape workforce requirements across the capital.
As the Government advances its programme of skills devolution and places greater responsibility on local areas to shape education, employment and economic growth, the capital has an opportunity to build a more responsive, employer-led and inclusive skills system. The London Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) provides the framework to make this happen.
The 2027 Summit will bring together employers, educators, local government, skills leaders and policymakers to consider how the capital can navigate these shifts and ensure people and businesses have the skills they need to thrive.
Drawing on practical examples from across London’s sub-regions, sessions will explore what effective collaboration looks like in practice and how it can help tackle skills gaps, connect people with opportunity and support the capital’s growth.
Join the debate on the issues that matter most:
- How will greater devolved decision-making for skills drive a more agile and responsive skills system?
- How can we tackle youth unemployment, create routes into good work and support people to remain in employment?
- How can we ensure a win-win for London and Londoners amid the rise of AI and digital innovation?
Who should be there?
The Summit will be of particular importance to Directors, Senior Managers and Heads of Departments responsible for skills, people and culture, diversity, social impact and values, HR, recruitment, business strategy, employee engagement, learning and development, apprenticeships and work experience. Attendees will be able to connect with key decision-makers, employers, educators and skills professionals from across our capital and beyond.
Bookings will open shortly, with more details on speakers and sessions coming soon.
