Responding to the Government’s announcement on Northern Powerhouse Rail and a new rail link between Birmingham and Manchester, John Dickie, Chief Executive at BusinessLDN, said:
“We welcome the Government’s commitment to Northern Powerhouse Rail – a vital initiative for economic development in the north of England and the whole UK, and exactly the sort of investment that it should be leading to drive job creation and growth.
“We also welcome the intention to build a new rail line between Birmingham and Manchester. It is vital that this is properly integrated with HS2, following its budget reset, allowing travellers seamlessly to continue to and from London Euston.”
