Vital that confidence is restored as people return to city centres, says London First
Commenting on the announcement confirming the lifting of restrictions from July 19, John Dickie, Chief Executive of London First, said:
“The Government has set out a clear path for unlocking the economy and should now send a clear message that public transport and workplaces are safe. For many, next week will bring the first tentative steps back to the office, and it is vital that confidence is restored as people return.
“There must now be a three-pronged plan to accelerate the capital’s recovery, including a better-funded push to bring visitors back, a long-term solution to funding public transport and a major reskilling programme to get more Londoners back into work. Getting the capital back to firing on all cylinders is critical for the future of the whole UK.”
