Commenting on the industrial strike action, Muniya Barua, Managing Director of Policy & Strategy at London First, said:
“It is ridiculous that it has come to this – strikes this week have been forecast to reduce total GVA by £52m across the capital. The last two years have been challenging for businesses in all sectors, and this is not the way to start London’s first restriction-free summer in two years.
After a successful Jubilee weekend, a smooth-running transport network must instil confidence in tourists exploring the city and allow key workers, hospitality staff and those unable to work from home to get to work on time.”
