Build to rent has a vital role to play in London, helping to increase supply while professionalising the rental sector. With almost half of Londoners living in rented accommodation, this event will look at the role that BTR has to play in tackling the housing shortage, taking evidence from a new report and using this to better understand the future role of the BTR sector and impact on London’s residential property sector post-pandemic. The report provides a snapshot of the build-to-rent market in London, how it compares to London’s wider private rented sector, and takes a more detailed look at the affordability of build-to-rent in the capital. Sarah Tonkinson, Managing Director of Institutional PRS & Build to Rent at Foxtons will provide a commentary on the report, before we open up to a broader panel discussion looking at the role that BTR has to play in tackling the housing shortage in London.
