Skilling London Series: Construction Skills: Building our response to London’s challenges

Coming out of the pandemic, labour and skills shortages in the construction sector are at worrying levels. This session will explore how, by working together, we can address these challenges and get London building and back to growth. Given the extent of the labour and skills shortages that are impacting the sector, this is an opportunity to bring together employers, educators and policy makers to take a deep dive into the challenges, discuss what is already being done to tackle them and how we can all work together to go further in identifying solutions. We’ll also look at London’s readiness to meet green skills needs. This session will build relationships between business and education through which practical steps can be taken to alleviate the shortages, while at the same time will help inform London First’s advocacy and our policy asks of Government.
